Search property sales by addition
The Douglas County Register of Deeds "sales by addition" provides a 12-month history of deed-type documents filed in the Register of Deeds office. This history includes sales through real estate companies, as well as by owner. This property search lists the lot, block, instrument type and number, file date, sales amount rounded to the nearest thousand dollars, and the assessor office's key number on available lots.
1) Find the addition name
Additions are listed in alphabetical order. On the search screen, type all or part of the addition name; press "enter" or select "search for additions". If there is no exact match, a list of addition names will appear. Scroll to the addition you are seeking, then select "view sales information". If there is an exact match, the 12-month sales history will appear.
2) Find Sales
Once you have the addition name listed, select "view sales information" for a sales history for the last 12 months. Initially, sales are listed in lot, and then block order. The order of the sales list can be changed by selecting a column heading by which the list will be sorted.
If the key number does not appear for a particular lot in the sales history, the key number could not be determined using only the addition name, lot and block. A further search, using the full legal description, will be required to determine the key number. Such a search must be completed by visiting our office.
The key number from the sales-search screen can be used to find valuation information on the Douglas County Assessor website, www.dcassessor.org. Select "valuation information" on that site and enter the key number exactly as shown on the sales-search screen; select "begin parcel search". You also may highlight, copy, and paste the key number shown on the sales-search screen directly into the "key number" field on the assessor's site and "begin parcel search".
